Pacific Academy Nomura Preschool begins to lay the founda-tions of learning readiness and social interaction in the Chicky class.
In this class, two- and three-year-olds focus on sharing, roll-playing, and the development of good listening and communi-cation skills. Chickies also develop social and self-help skills in a warm and encouraging environment. Children, teachers, and parents participate in potty-training ex-ercises to help the little ones learn to stay dry all day! Music is an important part of the Chickies’ day. Sharing songs and poems, with creative movement, is a great way for children to express themselves, and develop an understanding of pitch, rhythm, and rhyming.
A specialist teacher also visits the class twice a week to provide enrichment music classes, and prepare students for perform-ance opportunities. Throughout the Chickies’ day, there are many opportunities for creative and free play. In this first class at Pacific Academy Nomura Preschool, children have fun learning, and it shows!
