Thank you for your interest in Pacific Academy Nomura Preschool. Our school offers a balanced program that fosters development of the intellect, artistic capacity, physical fitness, and character of children from two to five years old. We are pleased that you have decided to apply for admission to our preschool. Our admission procedure is described below.
TourPlease call the Preschool Office at (510) 526-7847 to schedule a tour of the preschool with our Director, Ms. Lucy Karanja, if you have not already done so. During the tour, you will visit our preschool campus and the class your child will enter, depending on your child’s age. You will also have the opportunity to meet our staff, and learn more about our program.
ApplicationPlease return the enclosed Application for Admission with the $100 application fee to the Preschool Office (see address below). The application fee is nonrefundable.
AcceptanceAfter your tour, we will review your Application for Admission. Most applicants receive notification of acceptance within one week of applying. Depending on age and availability, your child may be placed on the waiting list. Your child's acceptance letter will inform you of her/his class, start date, and tuition payment instructions.
EnrollmentYou will receive an Enrollment Contract with your child's acceptance letter. Please return the Enrollment Contract, along with the nonrefundable $200 enrollment fee and one month’s tuition payment, at least one month prior to your child’s start date, in order to reserve your child's space in the class.
Medical PacketYou will receive a Registration Card and Medical Packet with your child's acceptance letter. Included in the Medical Packet are several forms from the State of California Community Care Licensing Department, in addition to the health forms. All forms need to be completed, signed, dated, and returned. Please return the complete packet with your child's immunization records to the Preschool Office at least two weeks prior to your child's start date.
PaymentThe $100 application fee is due with your Application for Admission. Upon acceptance, a $200 enrollment fee, and one month’s tuition payment is due to reserve your child's space in the class. The enrollment fee and first payment must be made by personal or cashier’s check, or money order, and must be returned with the Enrollment Contract, at least one month before your child’s start date. All subsequent payments are due by the 25th of the month.
Tee ShirtAll new preschoolers receive a Pacific Academy tee shirt to be worn on field trips, and on Friday to show school spirit!
Parent HandbookWhen your child starts school, you will receive a Parent Handbook. Please read it thoroughly for information about Pacific Academy Nomura Preschool’s policies and rules. Please return the signed Parent Statement at the back of the Handbook within one week of your child’s start date.
